On the 13th, I will be presenting on “Driving Innovative Learning in the Law Firm: Lessons from Law Without Walls.” Law Without Walls is a revolutionary, award-winning law school course involving students from 25 law and business schools in countries throughout the world.

Futures Conference
Early October will find me in Chicago for the College of Law Practice Management’s Futures Conference, October 4-5. The Futures Conference will feature a TED-like format with brief, provocative presentations by thought leaders and innovators followed by highly interactive break-out sessions where participants will react, analyze and make recommendations for action. I will facilitate one of the break-out groups.
Tools to Advance in Your Federal Career
On September 23, I will be speaking at a Federal Women’s Leadership Summit program in Washington, DC on how women can advance in careers with the federal government. My focus will be on sponsorship, mentoring and coaching. The session is sponsored by The National Equal Pay Task Force, in collaboration with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, the U. S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs and Women’s Bureau, and the Department of Justice, in partnership with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The latest issue of the ABA Journal features articles about women, including one (“Do Women’s Initiatives Work?”) in which I am quoted. While the quotes are accurate, the author erroneously states I practiced at Orrick. While Orrick is a fine firm, I never worked there; I spent most of my law practice career at another outstanding firm, Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe, which alas, no longer exists.
