I will be in NY to participate in the New York State Bar Association’s Eleventh Annual Edith I. Spivack Symposium. I will speak in a program entitled “Women Rising: Advancement, Mentoring, and Negotiating Your Way to the Top,” on January 27.

At this year’s PDI, I will speak on the topic of mentoring for leadership succession. My co-presenters will be Rebecca Normand-Hochman, founder and Director of the Institute of Mentoring, and Kit Chaskin, Global Director of the Women’s Initiative Network at Reed Smith.
I will be presenting two programs at the Association of Legal Administrators 2014 Human Resource Management Conference for Legal Professionals in Las Vegas on November 4. One program is about mentoring for leadership development and succession; the other is about engaging men in advancing women.
The Santa Clara County Bar Association Women Lawyers Section is holding a special Roundtable Discussion entitled “Career Advancement, Work-Life-Balance, and the Realities of Being a Woman Lawyer in the 21st Century.” My book Sponsoring Women is being featured and I will lead a breakout group on the topic of sponsorship. California Women Lawyers, Cooley LLP, and The Club Silicon Valley are co-hosting the event.
With my colleague Kenneth Imo, Director of Diversity at WilmerHale, I am conducting a survey on law firm sponsorship programs. Kenneth and I will discuss sponsorship, including our preliminary survey findings, in a webinar for the Professional Development Consortium.
I will be the featured speaker at a conference sponsored by the Women Lawyers of Utah, in Park City, UT, discussing leadership and political savvy.
The Futures Conference of the College of Law Practice Management will take place in Boston this year. I will be a break-out group facilitator, and also look forward to both induction of new Fellows and presentation of the InnovAction Awards.
On October 15, I will moderate a panel on advancing the careers of women lawyers in both private practice and corporate law departments at the Dorsey & Whitney Corporate Counsel Seminar in Minneapolis.
The New York Women’s Bar Association Foundation has invited me to discuss my book at a breakfast event being held at The Cornell Club in New York City.
I will conduct a program on why and how to find sponsors for the Fellows of the new On-Ramp Fellowship, which provides opportunities in law firms for experienced women lawyers who want to re-enter the profession after taking time out.
